Owen P.J. King – President and CEO
The founder of Stonehurst Management, Owen King has worked in the financial industries for thirty years. Since graduating with honors in Neuroscience from Amherst College, he has advised large businesses, municipalities, and individual investors in areas including asset management, debt issuance, and structured finance.
Prior to creating Stonehurst in 2002, Mr. King worked at Robert R. Meredith where he managed its global asset allocation program which applied advanced financial theory, investment research, and quantitative analyses to investment management. His clients included wealthy individuals, corporations, universities, and foundations.
While at P.G. Corbin and Prudential Securities, Mr. King had primary responsibility in advising some of the largest municipalities in the United States (including New York City, Philadelphia, the States of Connecticut and Washington, and Metro-Dade County (FL) among many others) and many of the world’s largest companies (primarily Fortune 200 corporations) on financing strategies and structures.
Mr. King is involved with numerous industry, not-for-profit, and educational organizations. He has been a director of both public and private organizations, at which he chaired numerous investment, finance, and other committees. He was named a John C. Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and is Chair of INCLUDEnyc (formerly Resources for Children with Special Needs). He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by Amherst College where he has held numerous volunteer and elected positions.
